The Smart Schools Bond Act was approved by state voters in 2014 and provides $2 billion to schools state-wide for educational technology and infrastructure. The Horseheads district's share of these monies is approximately $2.8 million. The district has a multi-phase plan to improve technology district-wide. Phase 1 of the plan will be paid for with the money provided by the Smart Schools Bond Act and will upgrade two areas of technology at the High School: infrastructure and security.
