Horseheads Middle School

The efforts of the reading program are based on the following beliefs: all students will experience success, reading is a life-long skill, and reading is fun. The reading specialist works closely with the classroom teacher to best meet the individual needs of the child. The support can be provided in several ways. The reading specialist may go into the classroom or the students may go to the reading specialist’s classroom. In either setting, the support may be done individually, in small group, or a combination of the two. The length and frequency of the time spent in this program is based on the individual needs of the child. For specific information regarding these services for your individual, please contact the reading specialist.
