2026-27 Budget Information
Budget Vote: Tuesday, May 19, 2026
High School North Gym from 7am to 9pm
Voting
All district residents are eligible to vote, provided they meet the following requirements:
- Are a U.S. citizen
- Are 18 years of age or older on the day of the vote
- Have lived in the district for at least 30 days prior to the vote
- Are not restricted from voting in general elections based on election law
OR

Absentee and Early Mail Voting
Qualified voters who cannot get to the polls on May 19 may request an application for absentee or early mail ballot.
Applications for absentee and early mail ballots are available at the District Office, 143 Hibbard Road, Horseheads, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. up to and including May 18. Ballots can only be mailed or issued in-person only directly to the applicant. Applicants may not designate another individual to receive the ballot on their behalf.
Completed ballots must be returned to the District Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on May 19. The district mails absentee ballots to voters listed as “permanently disabled” by the Chemung County Board of Elections.

Interested in running for the Board of Education?
To run for the Board of Education, a person must be at least 18 years of age, a qualified voter in the district, able to read and write, and must have lived in the district for at least one year prior to the board election/budget vote. Petitions for district residents interested in running for the Board of Education are available in the Business Office beginning in early March.
