Substitute Teaching
The Horseheads Central School District accepts applications for substitute teachers throughout the school year. Both certified teachers and non-certified graduates are eligible. Uncertified substitute teachers may be approved for substitute teaching as long as they have been graduated from high school for at least four years and meet the following requirements:
- Possess an Associate’s Degree or higher, OR
- Have completed at least two years of post-secondary education, OR
- Have been graduated from high school for at least four years and have completed a minimum of 12 credits of post-secondary education, OR
- Have served and been honorably discharged from the military.
To apply for substitute teaching, applicants must complete all of the documents in the Substitute Teacher Application link in the "More Information" box on the right and deliver them in person to the district’s Human Resources Office, 143 Hibbard Road, Horseheads, weekdays from 8am to 3:30pm. Applicants must also provide two forms of identification.
