Horseheads Beginning Instrumental Music
Welcome to our web page, and welcome to the Horseheads Instrumental Music Family!
In Horseheads, we think of our music program as a family, where all of us - teachers included - learn to grow as musicians together, helping each other along the way. We are thrilled to be able to teach your musician this year and look forward to beginning our musical journeys together.
Important Information and Dates (updated April 2021):
This year, the Music Department will host three Beginner Blast-Off evenings in September, where students and families can enjoy a short performance by our very own high school music students and try instruments at our brass, percussion, string, and woodwind stations. Students may also be able to take home an instrument that evening.
Our Beginner Blast-Off presentations will begin at 6pm and will be held at the Horseheads High School Auditorium (401 Fletcher Street entrance). Here is the schedule:
- Monday, September 13, 2021: For Big Flats and Center Street students and families
- Tuesday, September 14, 2021: For Gardner Road and Ridge Road students and families
- Wednesday, September 15, 2021: For Intermediate School students and families
