Horseheads Beginning Instrumental Music
Welcome to our web page, and welcome to the Horseheads Instrumental Music Family!
In Horseheads, we think of our music program as a family, where all of us - teachers included - learn to grow as musicians together, helping each other along the way. We are thrilled to be able to teach your musician this year and look forward to beginning our musical journeys together.
Important Information and Dates
Any student entering grade 4, 5, or 6 in September 2024 can begin playing an instrument.
This year, the Music Department will host two Beginner Blast-Off evenings in September. Students and families will have the opportunity meet current band and orchestra students, try out the different instruments, ask questions about our instrumental music program, and choose the instrument they want to play.
Our Beginner Blast-Off presentations will begin at 6pm and will be held in the Horseheads High School Auditorium (401 Fletcher Street entrance). The dates for this year's Beginner Instrument Nights are the following:
- Monday, September 12, 2022
- Wednesday, September 14, 2022
Both events will be the same, so interested students and families need only attend one of the nights. If you are unable to attend either of these Beginner Instrument Nights but your child is still interested in joining Orchestra or Band, please contact your child's music teacher.
