The Board of Education and administration begin development of the school year's budget many months prior to the May budget vote. Budget information is presented at board meetings and workshops throughout the winter and spring. For budget presentations, head to the corresponding meeting dates on Board Docs.

Candidates Forum
There will be a Candidates Forum Tuesday, May 14, in the Horseheads High School Auditorium. Candidates running for the Board of Education will introduce themselves and answer questions presented in a forum format. All are welcome. The forum will be live streamed and recorded.

Voting
All district residents are eligible to vote, provided they meet the following requirements:
- Are a U.S. citizen
- Are 18 years of age or older on the day of the vote
- Have lived in the district for at least 30 days prior to the vote
- Are not restricted from voting in general elections based on election law
OR
- Are registered to vote in general elections. Unsure if you are registered to vote? Click here.

Interested in running for the Board of Education?
To run for the Board of Education, a person must be at least 18 years of age, a qualified voter in the district, able to read and write, and must have lived in the district for at least one year prior to the board election/budget vote. Petitions for district residents interested in running for the Board of Education are available in the Business Office beginning in early March.
